MARTO WINES, Flonheim, Rheinhessen

In the little village of Flonheim in the Rheinhessen region in Germany, there is a little producer Martin under the label Marto Wines make terroir Natural wines. Martin after studying enology in Germany to learn all the trick to make good wines, he worked with Tom Lubbe (of Matassa) and Steph and Eddie at Gut Oggau in Burgenland. After that, he came back to the village where he was born and began to look after the family vineyards which his father was selling grapes to the producers in the area and also making fruit wines with different fruit like strawberry and raspberry. He converted everything to natural farming, eliminated also the use of copper. A full invest in a natural process with cover crops and canopy management all by hands. 2017 was Marto Wines’ first vintage. Grapes are hand harvest.
