2020 AURÉLIEN LEFORT 'PRIMA' GAMAY

Dominated by the foothills and low mountains of the Massif Central, Auvergne is a wine region with vineyards lie between 400 and 500 meters with a continental climate with two major rivers the Loire and the Allier (where the famous oak barrel come from). These rivers have carved their paths through the Massif Central, creating valleys, lakes, and alluvial plains on their route towards the lower-lying lands of northern and western France. The Terroir across the appellation is varied but generally influenced by the volcanic activity of the Massif Central's pre-history. Aurélien Lefort farms around 1.5 hectares of vines around his village Madriat. Aurélien’s vineyards are planted with a big mix of varieties some of which are nearly 120 years old. He is a very quiet reflective winemakers also as a nice kind personality.
