2020 AURÉLIEN LEFORT 'PRIMA' GAMAY
Aurélien Lefort farms around 1.5 hectares of vines around his village Madriat. Aurélien’s vineyards are planted with a big mix of varieties some of which are nearly 120 years old. He is a very quiet reflective winemakers also as a nice kind personality. He loves his job and his wine region.
He harvests late and uses an unusual technique, where he immerses whole clusters of grapes in direct press juice, in small tanks, recreating the same effect as carbonic maceration. Sulfur is never used in his wine and the intervention is inexistence. His wines has reach the gems of unobtainable. Aurelien makes wines of incredible purity in a tiny cellar underneath his house.
Aurelien working with several friends around Europe traveling to different wine regions Italy - Spain, and France of course; he picks the grapes in person and returns to his cellar to be vinified.
