Pinot noir cool climate new world
Burn cottage web-site:
While Burn Cottage celebrates the diversity of wine styles around the world, the estate is a passionate believer that the true genius of any site can only shine through wines of balance, wines picked at balanced levels of potential alcohol, and which receive only judicious use of new oak and the application of minimal technology. Burn Cottage believes that the greatest expression of terroir is built upon the accumulated expertise of thousands of years of winegrowing world- wide and applied by those with a sense of humility and dedication to achieving the purest wines possible.

Recently i had the chance to try two a beautiful pinot noir from a cool climate region one was coming from Central Otago in New Zeland on the bottom of the south island really concentrate in color with a great finesse, precise fruitiness as a cherry and mulberry jam. My mouth was full of fruit with a perfect smooth tannin, show in back of the mouth a great acidity integrate with the aging of  the time spend in barrel some fine licorice and spiciness as pepper and cinnamon. Burn Cottage is the name of the winery very new in Central Otago raising up from a few metal rock guys with a great C.V. in the field of winemaking, very harsh rock'n roll Pinot noir, hopefully the god of the rock'n roll bless them. Lovely com pain with your grill meat "succulent lamb chop".

Tamar Ridge web-site:
Fruit from the different sites and clones in our Pinot Noir vineyards is earmarked for a variety of wine-making techniques. These include pre and post-fermentation maceration, plunging and pumping-over in open and closed fermenters at varying temperatures, as well as barrel fermentation and maturation in new and older French barriques. The aim, always, is to extract the very best from each parcel of Pinot Noir fruit for both the Devil’s Corner and Tamar Ridge Kayena Vineyard labels.
Our wine-making goal is to harness the fruit characters our vineyards produce and to fashion them into individual wine styles that speak of their cool origins.

The second one coming from Tamar Valley in Tasmania in the north of the island. The vineyard is Tamar Ridge a big producers which working with a carefully attention trough the vines till the finish bottle. This one was more focus on freshness with a level of acidity more vibrant, however is driving by jammy luscious dark fruit, fine tannins and a long intense finish, with a nice complexity and a finely structured.
Both were the same vintage 2010.
Well done with vietnamese cuisine especially noodle soup with different cut of beef and some steam fish as barramundi with spice herbs, ginger and lemongrass.
