Le Coste Litrozzo, Le Primeur - Terpin Quinto Quarto Bianco

This is a little post about smashable Vini Naturali, Glou Glou wines from Italy:
Le Coste was born in February 2004 from Gianmarco and Clementine, the owner of three hectares of abandoned land known as "Le Coste."
The farm is located in the town of Gradoli, near Lake Bolsena on the border between Lazio and Umbria. Here the soils are from volcanic origin rich in iron and minerals that make the wines very fragrant. They produce wines deriving from organic agriculture in synergy with nature and the surrounding landscape. Today Le Coste covers an area of about 14 hectares, 3 of them dedicates to vines planted by Gianmarco and Clementine, 4 hectares of very old vineyards, 4 of olive trees, and 3 of woods and Mediterranean scrub, wild chestnut trees, oaks secular trees and elms. In the cellar which is encaved underground, they do not use any new oak and the process of vinification is carried out with natural fermentation and time.

Litrozzo is a nickname for liter; Procanico and Malvasia grapes; 2019 is gold intense color and easy drinking with nice phenolic tannin perception aroma of Meyer Lemon, stony juicy peach with crunchy acidity; nice vertical palate and lots of energy, beautiful low alcohol below 11% make this wine very summery and versatile with lots of type of cuisine and also on his own chatting around a table on your garden with mates.

The red Litrozzo from 2019 comes from a short maceration of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and touch of Merlot. This is a dry savory red wine, with black cherry, raspberry, and all the little forest fruit you find at the farmers market on your Sunday. Palate super fresh, clean with an exuberant amount of energy. A chilled red for your mortadella and gruyere sourdough roll.

2018 Le Primeur Aleatico; the wines are vinified in an ancient underground cellar. Le Primeur is made with the Aleatico vines situated in these ancient volcanic soil.  15 days of Carbonic maceration, the final fermentation is concluded in Slavonian oak for one month. Than aging for less than a year in barrel. A red fruit nose as cherry and wild strawberry juicy and super fresh. All these wines from Le Coste was open for lunch and until the end of dinner time, they were in great shape and drinkability, when people said no SO2 wines can be open for too long they are so wrong. Give it a try, lists in your by the glass program, or open one bottle in your fridge and drink in the next few days. A truly good Natural Wine or Vin Nature, from one of the fathers of natural wine of Italy. Gianmarco Antonuzzi.

Next wine from Fiuli Venezia Giulia in Collio denomination
Franco Terpin's cellar is located in San Floriano del Collio, in the province of Gorizia, a few steps from the Slovenian border. Franco comes from a family of farmers who has always been dedicated to viticulture. Starting from the early 90s he decides to change the direction of the family winery and make his own wines; the philosophy is focused on quality. The vineyards are born on Monte Calvario di S. Floriano, where the Stamas cru is also located. 10 hectares are cultivated with different grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, and Friulano the banned Tokaj (renamed Jakot upside down). The vineyards grow on the karstic soil of the "Ponka", rich in minerals and composed of marl and sandstone. Fermentation is catalyzed by exclusively indigenous yeasts. The wines are the product of long macerations and an equally prolonged period of aging in wooden barrels. In Franco Terpin's agriculture, only a wise use of low doses of copper and sulfur is used no other type of chemical are used. Quinto Quarto is the line more accessible in terms of time in contact with the skin. The wines are not clarified or filtered. They are worked with traditional methods and in full respect of nature.
2018 Quinto Quarto Bianco coming from a single vineyard in the Monte Calvario at 150m above sea level planted on a soil locally called “Ponka” originally part of the Eocene sea bed. Spontaneous fermentation, about a week skin contact, and aged for 8 months in stainless steel. The wine shows some cloudiness but the color is vivid and alive. Phenolic sweetness and brightness.
Your seafood is perfect with this wine. This part of Italy bordering with Slovenia especially in the Collio and Carso denomination is the home for Orange wines in Europe all done in Natural farming and very carefully low yields, and high-density planting. Another place to drink and choose your "Natural wine" "Vin Nature" for your personal cellar.
