Champagne Tarlant

In the village of Oeuilly in the Valle de la Marne is situated Tarlant a historical maison from 1928.
14 hectare of vines divide in 62 parcelle in 4 different village Boursault, Celles-Les-Conde, Oeuilly and St. Agnan.
The production is completely respectful of mother nature with no chemical and only one goal the respect of Terroir with low dosage. Old vines more than 30 years, with a little parcel on prefilloxera vines.
A prefilloxera vine on sandy soil, for the cuvee La Vigne D'Antan

Each parcel is vinified separately to understand the geological peculiarity of the soil, than in regard of the characteristic of the cuvee, the assembling will be done to express the style of the cuvee  or the vintage if will be a millesime.

The wines rest "sur Latte" for several years to express complexity and rich aroma profile.

In Tarlant even the NV cuvee "Zero" spend 4 years on lees before disgorged.
The dosage on the neck ...

La Cave.

in Tarlant the production is extended also on the Forgotten cepage as Arbanne, Blanc Vrai, Petit Meslier with one cuvee called BAM
each cepage is 5 rows of vines next to each other so the production is very small and is quite a pretty rare bottle to drink.
The One we tasted was the harvest 2009 after a time in barrel the vin Clair in 2010 has been bottle for the second fermentation and has been disgorged at the end 2016.
The wine was youthful with lots of energy, citrus element on the nose along spicy element with a concentration of toasty notes, well integrated with the structure of the wine.

La cuvee Louis is a multi vintage from one vineyard called "Les Crayons" in the village of Oueilly, the vine here are more than 65 years old and the soil is completely chalky; 50% Chardonnay 50% Pinot Noir.
This is my favorite wine of this Maison I love the tension, the complexity and the aroma every bottle I tasted I had an incredible experience.

In the tasting we had, I did liked the minerality and the freshness of L'Arienne 2004 a cuvee with 13 years on lees with an outstanding "Equilibre". 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir from 5 different parcel "L'Enclume" "Les Marguiniers" "Les Forgeottes" "Pierre de Bellevue" "La Purchase" ...

The Vin Clair, rarely doing the malolactic fermentation, due the Ph is very low.

Clay Anfora from Italy "Claiver"
