Champagne Avenay Val D'Or / Beaujolais Lantigniè
Avenay d'Or, is an area surrounded by vineyards and woods, the Marc Augustin maison, is a reality that tells the story of two families engaged in the production of Champagne for five generations.
The winery is developed within two prestigious terroirs: Avenay Val D'Or premier cru in Valle de la Marne with Pinot Noir; also with Chardonnay in the Premier Cru village Vertus, located in the Côte des Blancs. The first is characterized by the conformation of the subsoil rich in sand, chalk and clay, stratified over the centuries, while the second is characterized by a predominant presence of chalk.
Un Champagne Vin Vivant Marc Augustin in the Grande Vallèe de La Marne make Champagne in Biodynamic agriculture, the philosophy here is to be in balance with mother nature.
Stainless Steel is not used in the cellar and there is only room for wood, concrete and amphorae of different origins and shapes. The interventions are limited to the indispensable and in strict accordance with the lunar calendar, any enological additive is excluded and the use of sulfur is absent. Liqueur de tirage, Augustin used only the fine lees which he store in demijohn; than dynamized with raw sugar from biodynamic agriculture (Demeter certified). The vin clair are always aged at least until the summer solstice before bottling for the second fermentation and the Champagnes rest at least 3 years on the lees before disgorging: they are all Brut Nature.
2016 Terre 100% Pinot Noir is a Complex wines with intense colour, textural and tension with salinity and oxydative sharp minerality.
Biodynamics re-establishes the relationship between the four founding elements of the plant, the earth with the roots, the water with the leaves, the air with the flowers and the fire with the fruits. The lunar calendar obviously indicates which are the best times to “stimulate” these parts, even if Marc never stops researching and innovating his own approach in the vineyard.
Even in the cellar, the application of biodynamics continues, and each cuvée.

BEAUJOLAIS LANTIGNIE LES VERGERS SANTINI E VIN NOE 2017
The village of Lantignié, neighboring Régnié, is known for its darkly colored, concentrated and structured wines. It’s a Beaujolais-Villages from the slope, where the soils are either pink granite or blue sandstone.
In 2016 Christophe Santini opens the doors of his cellar to other young enthusiasts, who elaborate a barrique or two of their own wines, using the available material. He baptized this project as Auxey-Collective which also includes Jon Purcelle, former De Montille tractor driver, with the name Vin Noè.
The four-handed work does not move from the tradition of Beaujolais, therefore carbonic maceration, racking and subsequent stop in old woods for about two years.
All the wines produced by Christophe are vinified with indigenous yeasts and have no added sulfur until bottling. No other additives or manipulations are used at any time and the wines are bottled unfiltered. The vinification has been done entirely using whole cluster fermentations with the aim of always being wines guided by the terroir, light but aromatic, fruity. Chris prefers infusion techniques over extraction techniques, avoiding aggressive pumping and heating during winemaking. Whites and reds are aged in a combination of old fiberglass barrels and tanks.
This 2017 LANTIGNIE LES VERGERS Beaujo is on dark fruit spectrum almost a Morgon style with masculine appeal fat and acid; complex with a Burgundy intensity. A great wine.
